Name: Tirupati Balaji
Introduction
Tirupati Balaji is a form of the Hindu god Vishnu. Venkateswara means the Lord who destroys the sins of the people.
It is said that Lord Kubera credited money to the god Venkateshwara for his marriage with Padmavati. In remembrance of this, the devotees going to Tirupati donate money in Venkateshwara's Hundi so that he can repay Kubera.
He is fondly called as Venkanna in the folklore of Andhra Pradesh. He is also known asSrinivasa, Tirumalesa, Venkatachalapathi, Sripathi, ThiruMaal, Balaji (though this is a more recent name), Venkateshwer, Venkatesa, Venkatapathi, Venkatanatha, Sri Varu, Thiruvengadam Udaiyaan, Maal, Manivannan, Tiruvengadattaan Tirupati Thimmappa, and by many other names.
